DEMOTION CEREMONIES

“Demotion”, the ceremonial closing of a Rotary President’s year of service, has been a feature of Tulare Rotary since its inception. Typically held on the last meeting of the year in June, demotion was traditionally performed in the style of a “Friar’s Club” roast, with members offering gentle—and often not-so-gentle—barbs at the outgoing President’s foibles during the year.
